University Bookstore Return/Exchange Policies

Revised Refund/Exchange Policy
New and Used Textbooks

The refund/exchange period for books purchased prior to
and during the current Rush term ends on the third Friday
after the first day of classes.

Books purchased after the initial refund period may be
returned for a refund or exchange no later than 3 business
days after purchase.

No refunds or exchanges during exam periods.

No refunds or exchanges will be granted once textbook
returns have started.

New textbooks must be in resalable condition (no wear and
tear, no pen, pencil or highlighter marks) with all
corresponding components (disk, web codes, study guides,
etc.) intact.

Used textbooks must be in resalable condition (no excessive
wear and tear).

Textbooks for dropped classes follow same return criteria.

A receipt must accompany all refunds
and exchanges.
General Merchandise
-
Clothing and gifts in resalable condition with labels and
tags in place may be returned for a refund or exchange
within 7 days of purchase.

Defective merchandise may be returned for a refund or
exchange within 7 days of purchase.

No refunds on trade/reference books, opened software,
special orders, candy, snacks and drinks unless defective.

A receipt must accompany all refunds
and exchanges.
No receipt...no refund or exchange will be granted.
Clayton State University Book Buy Back Policy

Textbook Buy Back is
conducted during the days of Final Exams.

Your LakerCard is
required to sell books back

Books are bought back
on an as-needed basis (see below for more details)
Remember - your LakerCard
is required to sell books back!
What affects the buy back value of your books?

Instructor has
notified the Bookstore that the book will be reused
and the Bookstore needs additional quantities - **BEST
return value**

Instructor has
discontinued use of book or has not notified
Bookstore that your book will be used again

Bookstore already
has sufficient quantities of your book
-
Your book has
been published in an updated version and has little or no
dollar value
-
Condition of your
book may be too poor or incomplete to be resold (i.e.:
missing or damaged study guides, workbooks, books with
discs, maps, charts, etc)
-
National demand
determines resale value of books that have been discontinued
at Clayton State.
